WORLD OF WORK

It came to past that people continue to take advantage of others. Injustice much?
What I would like my readers to do is not to accept abuse of any kind from their coworkers, employers or employees. Yes, employers suffer abuse too. Know your rights! Exercise them! Seek help if necessary.
I commend my friend who went through the relevant channels to ensure that he got money owed to him by his employer. Well done, I say - well done, my good friend!

OF POLITICS AND GIMMICKS

Good day to my wonderful readers.
My really close friends know that I can be extremely offensive and at the same time be politically correct. With that being said, I will have to say that being present at the People's National Party town meeting on November 10, 2011 in Waterford was an experience and a half.
I honestly did not expect to enjoy myself. Ah yes, I said enjoy! Now how does a spectator enjoy oneself at a political meeting you ask? It is simple, just listen keenly to what whoever at the podium is saying and you will sure to have a laugh or few. Do not forget to get an eyefull of the other spectators and their rhetorics.
I arrived at the bus stop where the stage is after 8pm. The Honorable Portia Simpson-Miller was no where in sight but her comrades (PNPs pronounce it cumreds) were. I was not even aware of the whole comrade monicker. Anyhow, the disc jockey had a variety of appropriate song selections that was in sync with the words of the comrades.
The DJ played 'You're Amazing' by Bruno Mars, 'She's Royal' by Taurus Riley, among others, to welcome Portia to the stage. She was dancing too!
The highlight of my night would have to be when they played Mavado's 'Gully Side' to welcome one time mayor of Portmore, George Lee, to the podium. That probably was a wrong move as they were in "Gaza" where Vybz Kartel loyalists are in abundance. It seemed that they realized and the next selection was 'Summertime' by the Teacha himself.
I could not bother to listen to all the Jeep and driva talks anymore so I left before it ended.

BIRTHDAY CAKE - IS IT RELEVANT?

Top of the night to my lovely readers. I appreciate your direct feedback to posts. However, I urge you to not be shy and write your views so that others can participate. Remember that it can be done anonymously if you so desire. With that being said, let us explore tonight's topic - the birthday cake.
I love cake just as the next gal or guy. I wouldn't say that I have a favourite, though Black Forest is a delicious treat when bought from the right cake company.
It is exactly twelve days since I have had my birthday and I did not have any cake. It was not intentional, it just didn't work out. Even if most people don't throw a birthday party they at least have some sort of cake or pastry to seal the deal. It makes me wonder if there is a time limit in which you can have your birthday cake. If the month is finished does it still qualify as a birthday cake?

WHAT TO DO

Tomorrow I will have to seriously start putting my literary works together. I have a lot of work to post. I am thinking of starting a new blog to post the interviews that I have conducted but it is pretty hard to come up with a cool enough name for it. I am also contemplating if I should give it a new home since I already have two blogs here. Regardless of that my faithful readers AT Blogger will get access. So how it the new week treating yall?

GUILTY PLEASURE - 'WORLD BOSS'

World Boss! I am still laughing at Vybz Kartel's hand gestures whenever he professes himself as the 'world boss' on his looking-for-love reality show, Teacha's Pet. I swear Kartel deh pon another level. What level? I haven't the slightest idea. But one has to admit that this Jamaican entertainer from Waterford is newsworthy, and in many ways.

From profane lyrics to bleaching of the skin, Adidjah Palmer was the first to do many things in the Jamaican dancehall scene. Just ask him, he'll gladly tell you in his third person reference style. Didn't pick up on that you say?

-Interviewer: So Kartel what do you think of...?

-Kartel: Well Vybz Kartel does not promote... ahuh ahuh.... awoh...

As a media junkie (journalist) I am waiting for other Jamaican members of the dancehall fraternity to debut their reality shows of any kind.

The first episode of Teacha's Pet was entertaining and puzzling, to say the least. It has potential to be a hit if sensible editing is done.
